Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce celebrates new staff member, James Brownyard, Director of Government Affairs, to the experienced chamber team! If his name sounds familiar, he is also the Vice President of Legislative and Governmental Affairs with the Desert Valleys Builders Association.
Brownyard joins the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce team with nearly 20 years of legislative and governmental affairs experience. Upon receiving a medical retirement from law enforcement, Brownyard completed his university studies with a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. He had expected to work in city administration but found his calling as an advocate for economic development, small business and especially the construction industry.
Brownyard will be running the Advocacy Meetings, meeting with area elected officials on pro business issues and keeping the membership up to speed on happenings in Sacramento and Washington DC. Members will receive voting records annually and be invited to meet the law makers at events like the upcoming Legislative Breakfast on October 10th at 8:30am at Mission Hills Country Club featuring Congressman Calvert, Assemblymember Wallis and Supervisor Perez (Members Only: Tickets Here).
“We’re thrilled to have James come on board as another leading layer to our voice of business. I’ve had the pleasure of working with James in this capacity before and his chamber experience is a great fit for our team, board and community.” – Katie Stice, President/CEO, Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce
