Sunnylands Center & Gardens is inviting the public to a special Family Day on Saturday, Dec. 10, that focuses on skills related to science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM).
Under the direction of students from Cathedral City High School’s International Baccalaureate CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service) program, kids and their families can learn about aerodynamics, mechanical engineering, kinetics, and biology through activities such as making paper airplanes, balloon cars, or mini ecosystems from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All activities and admission to Sunnylands Center & Gardens are free.
Please note that the historic Annenberg estate and the Center & Gardens will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 7, for an employee appreciation day and on the following holidays:
- Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24
- Christmas Day, Sunday, Dec. 25
- New Year’s Day, Sunday, Jan. 1
Aside from the dates above, Sunnylands Center & Gardens, at 37977 Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage, will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.

Programs offered through Sunnylands Center & Gardens educate the public about the history of Sunnylands, its architecture, art collections, cultural significance, and sustainable practices.
