PALM DESERT, CA – December 30, 2019 – SHOTTENKIRK DESERT LEXUS is the Title and Hole-in-One Car Sponsor of the 2ND ANNUAL VARIETY GOLF SCRAMBLE held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Palm Valley Country Club in Palm Desert. All participants will have a chance to win a Lexus car if they make a hole-in-one! Contour Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery Center has joined the event as the Presenting Sponsor. Patrick Evans, Meteorologist and host of “Eye on the Desert” on NEWS CHANNEL 3 and CV104.3 Radio Personality, will host the Awards Reception sponsored by the RUMCHATA FOUNDATION immediately following the tournament. There will also be a raffle with prizes and a silent auction with exciting items to bid on.
The tournament has been developed under the leadership of tennis hall of famer, Rosie Casals, and boasts the perfect combination of fun on the course and a meaningful opportunity to support local children in need at the silent auction and awards ceremony. The Annual Golf Scramble benefits Variety – the Children’s Charity of the Desert, a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children facing the challenge of disadvantage or living with special needs in the Coachella Valley. Since 1987, Variety – the Children’s Charity of the Desert has served the local community by donating over forty 12-passenger Ford vans to Angel View, Boys & Girls Clubs and the YMCA for the transportation of disadvantaged children to and from school and sports programs and for children undergoing cancer treatment at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Variety has presented over 7,250 bikes to area children nominated as good citizens by their teachers, including over 40 specially adapted mobility bikes for kids with mental and physical disabilities.
Variety’s Board of Directors encourage the community, individuals, local businesses and organizations to participate by registering to golf and joining host, Patrick Evans, on the links for a fun-filled day of golf, prizes and awards in support of disadvantaged local children.
