Our Rancho Mirage Rotary Club members are busy working on collecting small items for our “We Care” Project for the month of September, the items will be delivered to seniors along with the Meals on Wheels Program from the Joslyn Senior Center. The Chairman of this project is Annalee Davis, she is a retired third grade teacher who has moved to Rancho Mirage recently. She has become a very enthusiastic member of our Rotary club and you will always find her eager to help or donate. She has asked us collect items such as, small bottles of hand lotion, cue tips, toothbrushes, hand sanitizers, nail clippers, Kleenex, etc. The key word is SMALL! Delivery of packets will be on September 17.

Have you heard? The Rotary Club of Rancho Mirage is collecting socks for “Socktober” a community service project. The socks will be delivered to the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission on October 15. The chairman of this project is Sue DeMorris Hammer and David Hammer, new members of our Rotary Club who have set a goal to collect 100 pairs of socks. Sue is a new member of our Rotary club she is a nursing consultant and David is a semi-retired attorney. David is a long time Rotarian belonging to several clubs in the past. They are a dynamic couple who want to help their community be the best place to live and work. Trick or Treat! Yes Halloween is coming and the Rotary Club of Rancho Mirage is collecting candy for the USO. Our Chairman is Rancho Mirage Elementary School Principal Shane Hagar. He is planning a tour of the USO facility, if health restraints are lifted, on the day we deliver the treats Oct. 29. If you would like to contribute to this community service project contact Mr. Hagar at 760-835-6103 for the drop off location.
