Palm Springs, Calif., (September 21, 2023) – Get ready for an electrifying musical journey as Palm Canyon Theatre (PCT) proudly presents RENT, the groundbreaking and poignant masterpiece that has captivated audiences worldwide. This iconic production, directed by Luke Rainey with set and lighting design by J.W. Layne and featuring the musical direction of Jaci Davis, promises an unforgettable theatrical experience.

 

Written by Jonathan Larson, RENT takes audiences on a rollercoaster ride through the lives of a group of young artists striving to survive and create in New York’s vibrant Lower East Side. Set against the backdrop of the HIV/AIDS crisis, this memorable musical delves into the dreams, loves, and conflicts of eight bohemian souls. With songs that rock and a story that resonates across generations, RENT offers a gripping narrative that will leave you moved and inspired.

 

PCT’s production of RENT boasts a talented cast, including: Sonny Von Cleveland as Roger Davis, Patrick Wallace as Mark Cohen, Allegra Angelo as Mimi Márquez, Travis Cresenger as Angel, Dwayne Arvinger as Tom Collins, Christine Avery as Maureen Johnson, April Mejia as Joanne Jefferson, Raul Valenzuela as Benny Coffin. With ensemble including Jana Giboney, Jessica Lenz, Jasmin Shaffer, Dani Jara Lesaca, Sanai Wright, Jackie Padgett, Robert Lesaca and LT Cousineau.

 

RENT takes to the stage October 27-November 12, 2023. Show times are 7 p.m. on Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $38 for adults; $34 for seniors; $17 for students. Group discounts are available.
