Palm Springs Animal Shelter to Host Their Annual Clear The Shelters Event August 12th and 13th

July 24, 2023

Hi Animal Lovers,

As many of you know, we are packed to the gills here at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. Many of our kennels are doubled and tripled up NOW which is not great. To help drive more adoptions, we have confirmed the date for our annual Clear The Shelters event, which will take place on August 12th and 13th. Our goal for the weekend will be to adopt out as many animals as possible. 😻

And to help, our friends at Boozehounds have agreed to cover the adoption fees for the entire weekend! How cool is that?!?!?! THANK YOU BOOZEHOUNDS!! 🐕

Since we are in an overcapacity situation, we need your help. We’re putting some marketing and advertising muscle behind this to drive as many people to the shelter as possible that weekend, including TV commercials, radio spots, social media, etc. 💪

Here’s how you can help:

  • Spread The Word – Attached you will find a social media square. If you are on social media, please post this on your social media platforms. Here is some sample copy you can use:   The Palm Springs Animal Shelter is overcapacity, and will be hosting a Clear The Shelters Event on August 12th and 13th, with the hope of finding homes for as many animals as possible. Kennels are doubled and tripled up, and we need your help. Our friends at Boozehounds will be covering the costs of all adoption fees that weekend, so please spread the word and come meet our furry friends and help them find their forever loving homes. The shelter is located at 4575 E. Mesquite Avenue in Palm Springs.
  • Donate Prizes or Help Secure Prizes – We will have a prize wheel that all adopters get to spin. If you have any businesses that would be willing to donate prizes, please ask them.
  • Ask Others to Help Promote – If you know of businesses or other individuals who would be willing to share this event on their social media platforms or distribute cards or flyers, please invite them to do so. We will have printed postcards and flyers available very soon in the volunteer office.

Thank you ALL in advance. We need as much help as possible to get the word out. If you have other ideas, please don’t hesitate to email me.  Jayson Lake-Velazco, Jayson jlake@psanimalshelter.org
