Where it all started!
Over 5 years ago, insurance expert, Doug Motz, decided he wanted out of being a “Captive Insurance Agent” for the past 25 years. (Note: A captive insurance agent can only write insurance through that one carrier. An Independent insurance agent can write insurance through several carriers to find the best coverage for the best value.)
Doug approached his oldest son, Jonathan, who had an independent insurance agency to see if he wanted to merge their two agencies to become one insurance brokerage.
On May 1, 2018, Motz-Rusin Insurance Agency came alive. And alive it came!
In an instant the agency grew, winning award after award from their different carriers in just their first year and continue to win awards every year because of their expertise and care for their customers.
To say they know insurance is an understatement. Doug has been in the business almost 40 years and Jonathan has been in the business 17 years. Doug’s father had an exceptionally large agency for over 35 years. Insurance is in the blood!
Together they provide their customers with decades of experience in the insurance industry.
Motz-Rusin Insurance Agency has a staff of six and the agency is licensed in over twenty-five states. Their primary office is in Palm Desert, on the corner of Washington St. & Fred Waring and they also have an office in Cody, Wyoming.
On a personal level, the two families are continually active in their community where they belong to several different organizations and seem to always be sponsoring events all over the Coachella Valley, as well as in Cody.
They believe giving back brings you interesting and challenging opportunities that allow you to connect to your community while making it a better place to live.
