PALM CANYON THEATRE IS OFFERING YOU EXCLUSIVE COMP TICKETS To Two Plays, Directed by JUDITH CHAPMAN BOTH THIS WEEKEND
Palm Canyon Theatre is thrilled to offer a unique and exciting opportunity this fall. We are presenting not one but two powerful productions: Shunned, running from October 4–13, 2024, and Sundew, premiering on October 6th and continuing through October 12, 2024. This is a rare chance to experience the directorial brilliance of Judith Chapman, all in one visit to the thriving artistic hub of Palm Springs. Chapman, celebrated for her outstanding work on various soap operas, brings her passion and vision to both productions.
Shunned, written by Larry Parr, offers a poignant exploration of Amish life and the universal feeling of isolation experienced by its characters. The talented Janice Lynde, a Broadway and soap opera star, adds emotional depth to her role as Katherine Yoder, igniting powerful conversations about acceptance and the impacts of exclusion. Through the gripping narratives of the Yoder family, Shunned challenges societal norms and invites audiences to reflect on the experiences of those who have felt marginalized. The cast also includes Valley favorites Michael Pacas as Aaron Yoder, Joshua Rach as Levi Yoder, Jessica Lenz as Mary Yoder, Sonia Reavis as Sarah Miller, David Brooks as Mark Cummings, Jackson Enzler as Gary Smith and Olga Morales as the Customer.
EXCLUSIVE COMP TICKETS for SHUNNED available for:

Meanwhile, Sundew, also crafted by Parr, addresses urgent questions surrounding environmental stewardship and economic priorities. Judith Chapman’s extensive travels and rich insights inform this production, examining how communities confront the pressing challenges of climate change. With its compelling script, Sundew dares audiences to consider the critical choices we face: prioritizing the health of our planet or financial gain. The cast includes Denise Strand as Elizabeth Andrews, Georgia Smith as Alice Andrews, Christopher Lopez as Tom Perkins and Corbett Brattin as Matthew Spencer.
