GROOVES AT THE WESTIN SERIES FEATURING RAY PARKER JR. AND OTHER TOP TALENT

Enjoy 5 Dynamic Concerts from November 2019 to March 2020 at The Westin

RANCHO MIRAGE, CAAugust 15, 2019 – The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa is happy to announce their 2019-2020 Grooves at The Westin concert season will consist of five concerts scheduled from November 2019 through March 2020 featuring world-class talent. For the first time ever, Ray Parker Jr. will be performing at the resort and returning favorites include Peter White. Grooves was first introduced to the desert a decade ago and has become a mainstay music series, successfully transitioning to The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa in 2014.

Kicking off the series, and part of the Cathedral City Hot Air Balloon Festival, the resort will be hosting a special Balloon Glow concert on Friday, November 22, 2019. A dozen hot air balloons will provide the backdrop for a spectacular evening of music, wine and dancing, featuring the big band sounds of Ron King with vocalist Barbara Morrison.

On Friday, December 6, three of the hottest sax players in smooth jazz, Jessie J, Michael Paulo and Paul Taylor will rock you around the Christmas tree in a special holiday performance. Featuring favorite holiday songs, this event is perfect for social groups and office holiday parties.

With a career spanning decades and collaborations with countless artists, Ray Parker Jr. performs for the first time ever in the Grooves concert series on Saturday, January 18, 2020. His childhood friend and pianist Kevin Toney will be performing on keyboards with Ray along with bass legend Freddie Washington Jr.

One of the most popular figures in smooth jazz, Peter White brings his endearing style and immense talent on acoustic guitar back for a sweet and early Valentine’s date on Saturday, February 8, 2020. White will be joined by veteran saxophonist Michael Paulo and keyboardist Gregg Karukas.

True to his reputation, Rick Braun brings a smooth, mellow and heartfelt performance on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Braun’s inimitable style of jazz trumpet will deliver an experience straight to the soul.

The concerts, which all begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., are open to hotel guests and visitors. Tickets for the Balloon Glow event start at $99 and include 90 minutes of beer and wine tastings and small plates along with a balloon glow spectacle featuring a dozen hot air balloons. Tickets for all other Grooves concerts come in different price tiers. From $85 VIP tickets (includes meet & greet artist reception) to $45 General Open Seating and $99++ for dinner package, there’s something for all to enjoy.
