CVEP Small Business Forum Gives Employees Tools to Provide Exceptional Service

The Coachella Valley Economic Partnership (CVEP) will begin the year with a Small Business Forum dedicated to the most important asset in any business or nonprofit: people.

The Small Business Forum, Improving Customer Service Through Mindfulness & Resilience, is a hands-on, audience participation workshop led by personal & professional development expert, Alfred Ricci, MBA. Front-line employees and their managers will learn and practice methods to increase customer service.

The Forum will be held on January 8, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at UCR Palm Desert Center.

“One of the most frequent problems we hear about from local small business owners is that it’s hard to find motivated employees,” said Laura James, CVEP’s VP of Innovation. “We now know that motivation and job performance can be impacted by external events, whether those events happen on the job or not. Simple techniques learned at this workshop will go beyond typical ‘soft skills’ training seminars and will help businesses provide the kind of world-class service people expect when in Greater Palm Springs.”

When employees have the right tools to manage themselves and the experiences they bring to the workplace, managers spend less time dictating tasks and behaviors: employees do what needs to be done because they want to. Customers reap the benefits as they feel valued and cared about.

CVEP’s Small Business Forums are presented at no charge as an educational benefit to the small business community. This forum is recommended for small business owners, managers, and front-line employees. Seating is limited: tickets are available online at CVEP.com.
