Who we are:
As a not-for-profit membership organization, the Rancho Mirage Chamber is a bridge that links businesses, and residents together with innovative programs that strengthen economic vitality, business success, job creation, and quality of life. The Chamber represents all member businesses by advocating for policies that foster a positive business climate. The Chamber also supports innovative ideas to educate, attract, and retain a high-quality workforce.
On behalf of the 600 members and more than 15,000 employees that comprise the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce the Advocacy Committee shall advocate for reasonable, well researched and debated legislation that is favorable to businesses; complements economic development initiatives; encourages Free Enterprise; and, continues to elevate the business competitiveness of the Rancho Mirage area.
Advocacy Platform:
Free Enterprise: The Advocacy Committee is committed to the spirit of Free Enterprise and business-centric, pro-economic development policies that improve the business climate for the Rancho Mirage area, and foster a culture of economic prosperity.
Labor: The Advocacy Committee is committed to legislation that maintains the Coachella Valley’s competitive workforce and enhances job creation, while nurturing an environment that promotes growth and expansion.
Energy & Environment: The Advocacy Committee is committed to keeping Rancho Mirage competitive in the energy market through use traditional and progressive resources that allow for timely development of needed energy infrastructure investments across the Coachella Valley, and continuing the development of cost-effective, renewable energy sources.
Healthcare: The Advocacy Committee is committed to policy that promotes accessibility, affordability, and sustainability of the healthcare system, providing the workforce and business community with high-quality healthcare.
Infrastructure – physical and digital: The Advocacy Committee is committed to advocate for legislation that bolsters the physical foundation (sites, water and gas connections, broadband, utilities etc.) of doing business in the region and also improves the digital potential for businesses to come to and expand in the region.
Regulatory Reform: The Advocacy Committee is committed to policies that that are more conducive for conducting business in the Rancho Mirage area.
Taxation: The Advocacy Committee is committed to reducing unreasonable financial barriers to business development and growth, and support measures that strengthen California’s business climate.
Transportation: The Advocacy Committee is committed to advocating for transportation policies that are fair and equitable to all of the regions in the Coachella Valley; increase the ability for investment in transportation projects; and provide organizations the transportation network needed to do business in the modern era.
Promote Government Reform:
Support the elimination and consolidation of duplicative or overlapping agencies. Promote improved communication and coordination between governing bodies. Monitor planning, spending, and the implementation and progress of government programs and infrastructure projects.
Support greater engagement and input from the business community in the allocation of public funds and resources
