CDI Invitation to Virtual Investigatory Hearing on Homeowners’ Insurance Availability and Affordability

The Department of Insurance has created an insurance roadmap for reopening small businesses during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  This information is easy to share and very informative for all small businesses.

On Wednesday, October 7th Commissioner Lara and CA State Treasurer Fiona Ma are hosting a Statewide Chinese Community Small Business Virtual Town Hall. Please share the attached invitation with your constituents. Real time translation of the Virtual Town Hall, in Mandarin and Cantonese, will be provided.

On Monday, October 19th Commissioner Lara will be hosting a virtual investigatory hearing regarding potential administrative changes to existing insurance regulations and practices that will help address the pervasive and increasing challenges that homeowners face when seeking and maintaining insurance in high wildfire risk regions of California, especially in light of climate change.  Attached please find the official invitation.

We would also like to invite you to Register today to join us for the 2020 Virtual Insurance Diversity Summit at www.tinyurl.com/2020VIDS that’s happening from November 12 – 13, 2020.

2020 is a pivotal year that will shape our future. The racial justice movement and COVID-19 laid bare the inequities that devastate our diverse business communities. Now more than ever, we need to come together to focus on Uplifting Our Communities and build each other up. The California’s insurance industry is the largest insurance market in the nation and is poised to advance supplier and board diversity.

This two-day, virtual event offers a virtual Matchmaking Roundtable, Resource Expo, and engaging webinars led by experts on the topics of race and diversity in the insurance industry, diversity in the boardroom, navigating the insurer procurement pathways, building resilience in business strategies, and much more!

On the registration site you’ll also find more details including the program agenda, exciting speaker information, and a marketing toolkit to spread the word to friends in your community. And for the first time ever, we have a (free) event app to make it even easier for you to attend from your mobile or tablet devices.
